Its a natural progression to want to live and invest in the same place, and many foreign investors in Florida have already started down this residency route. With the EB-5 Investment Visa, which can be renewed indefinitely, if you are already in the United States, you may apply to change your status to that of lawful permanent US resident after a visa number becomes available to you. If you are in another country when the visa becomes available to you, you must go to the US consulate servicing the area in which you reside to complete your processing.
The investors' route to residency is one of the fastest available. It can take up to four or five years for applicants who are sponsored by a US company and 12 to 15 years for applicants sponsored by family.
