Each of its four neighborhoods has its own characteristic flair, but come together to form a cohesive community offering amenities, luxuries and social activities you won’t find in any other development.

Community activities range from water sports, golf, tennis and horseback riding, there is a community library, art and salsa lessons.

Home to the community’s lively beach club, along with tennis courts and an equestrian center is Montecristo’s fourth neighborhood Costa Azul.

Restaurants, pubs and other gathering places line the neighborhood boardwalk. Costa Azul is the social heart of Montecristo.

At the waterfront, Costa Azul boasts a mile-long stretch of sandy beach, featuring Montecristo’s prime surfing spot near the mouth of Rio Soledad.

Montecristo has something to offer for everyone, with real estate that suits every taste and budget. Ventanas del Mar oceanfront condos start at $209,990, while Cumbres lots start as low as $65,000 (many of these have already been sold but there are a few left).

Cielos ridge lots are offered at $322,000 for over an acre and a half with a large range of choice of position and acreage. And in the Altos Linda Vista neighbourhood there are still lots available at $50,000 for approximately a quarter acre.

The programs help landowners and developers design for the environment so that both economic and environmental objectives are achieved. Once construction is complete, involvement in an Audubon Signature Program ensures that managers apply sustainable resource management practices in long-term stewardship of the property.

This is an ongoing process that will dictate how the community and golf course operate after completion of construction.

Mike Young, our golf course architect, is a member of the Audubon International Golf Advisory Council. He said: "Presently we are in the Audubon Signature program working towards obtaining gold status at the opening of the project. This status is only awarded to courses and developments that begin the process before construction."
