A Computer technician and a Nuclear Power engineer Sell their Dream Business If someone told Rita ten years ago that she would find her true love whilst doing what she loved most, she would have said “no way”! Well, that’s just what happened in Cozumel – Mexico.   Rita has always been drawn to Cozumel which is known in the dive industry as one of the best dive locations in the world and a popular tourist destination.  The crystal-blue waters, brilliant colours of the reefs below and fertile waters teeming with fish make the island a Mecca for fans of water sports. This is where Rita met her partner, Burak. They shared the same passion which led them down a path of great opportunities. Together they established a small diving and fishing business called Albatros.  The popularity of fishing soon dominated the use of the boat which left little time for diving so they purchased another one. The business didn’t stop there, it grew from strength to strength and no sooner had they bought the second boat the business demand was so great they had to buy a third!  Albatros grew rapidly over the years and continues to do so today. Due to the professionalism of not only Rita and Burak but of their loyal and dedicated staff who are all trained and qualified in their field of expertise, they provide first class customer service to their clients.  For this reason they see repeat business and referrals which keeps them working from 7am – 7pm and on many occassions much later. The business is growing by the day and they regularly refer business they can not accommodate to other companies on the proviso they meet the same high standards that Albatros offers.  The business does not stop. Fishing season is now all year round and the diving season has expanded beyond Nov – May and has recently peaked to an all time high in June. The potential is endless.  So why do Rita and Burak want to sell up? When I asked the question, Rita took a sigh and said “In the beginning we wanted to do a small venture, something we both enjoyed. We never dreamt it would grow so big. We enjoy it so much but can not put the time in that’s needed."  She continued sadly, "Albatros has outgrown us, it’s time the business had a new owner to take it that step further. We are sad to say goodbye, it has become such a great part of our lives, we love meeting our customers, they are so interesting and tell such great stories from all over the world, ultimately they become our friends. We are not leaving Cozumel, the beauty of the island will not allow us. It is time to sit back and relax for a while”.
